Debco Production Status Update…We’re Back!
Dear Friends,
It’s been over two months since Debco was forced to shut its doors to assist in preventing the spread of COVID-19. Some 65+ days later we were prepared for a June 2nd reopening to address our production backlog and a full reopening on June 9th, provided the Ontarian government follows through with that phase of the province’s reopening plan.
Shutting down was a difficult decision to make because of the impact we knew it would have on our staff, our distributors, and the end-users that are served by our partners. While we’ve certainly missed out on project opportunities during the shutdown, we continue to feel that the correct decision was made for the greater good of our communities.
During the shutdown, we were anything but idle. We took the opportunity to explore the shifting needs of society and made adjustments to our product line, by way of developing new product ideas that will cater to those shifting needs. We also reimagined the future of sales calls, tradeshows, pre-planned events, and the nature of public interaction, beyond this pandemic. The results of our studies were unexpected and have led us in a variety of new directions that we’ll pursue as a company to ensure the long term viability of our firm and, quite frankly, your firms. If you didn’t get a chance to see one of the many virtual tradeshows we created during the shutdown, please click here to view one. You’ll be treated to some preliminary observations about the trends that will fuel demand for promotional products, today and into the future. You’ll also see real case studies and perhaps crack a smile or two along the way.
It comes as no surprise that the world we knew on March 24th is radically different than the one we’re in today. Anxiety, unemployment, malady, uncertainty, division, and heartbreak are all words to which everyone can relate. But hope, love, confidence, kindness, friendship, and passion represent the other half of the equation. Where there is devastation, there is the prospect of regrowth and rejuvenation. The fertile valleys surrounding Mt. St. Helen’s and the determination of the citizens of Hiroshima and Nagasaki are testaments to the will of nature and the will of humanity.
We will reopen before you know it and we’ll do our utmost to quickly clear the backlog of orders that didn’t get produced prior to shutdown. Fortunately, our new facility is large enough to accommodate the new social distancing requirements. As such, it won’t take us long to clear the backlog of orders that were placed prior to and during the shutdown. In fact, we already brought back staff to take care of pre-press so that when we’re sanctioned to reopen our production, there won’t a minute that’s lost. As such, we take this opportunity to thank you, in advance, for your patience as we get ourselves (and your orders) caught-up.
Grateful is a word that comes to mind when we think about the tremendous support and the level of partnership that we’ve enjoyed over the years. Hopefully, we’re a mere matter of days away from serving you again. Until then, we’ll continue to innovate in the background until which point we may be reunited.
Sincerely,
Team Debco
