Entry-Level Product Strategist

This is not a remote position.

We are looking for an Entry-Level Product Strategist to work closely with our Sales and Marketing teams and participate workflow for new innovations.  

This individual will be a dynamic, hard-working professional with some previous product and design background. You must have a “roll-up your sleeves” attitude, exceptional follow-up and responsiveness and be a self-managed, independent worker who is detailed-oriented.

Essential Functions:

  • Utilize business intelligence, marketing research, and analytics to develop conclusive strategy-based product development decisions in tandem with the marketing department.
  • Support sales team with prototypes, samples, presentations, sales sheets, merchandisers, and promotional plans.
  • Manage product roadmap and product lifecycle through to end of life, including product improvements, QC issues, cost savings, and ultimately obsolescence.
  • Execution of the product roadmap, ensuring products meet predetermined criteria in terms of features, benefits, cost, and deliverability.  Ensure deadlines and budgets are met.
  • Regular reporting of the status of projects and transparency into the progress of development projects. 
  • Approval of new products for compliance requirements, managing testing and validation as necessary.
  • Identify competitors for key categories of products, and monitor product offerings, key features/benefits, and pricing.
  • Monitor other division product lines and identify opportunities for cross divisional collaboration.

Required Education and Experience:

  • BA/BS degree in Business, Marketing, Industrial Design, or related fields and/or equivalent experience. 
  • 1-3 years’ experience developing consumer products and working with a Creative Team through processes of ideation, product design, labeling, and package design.
  • Demonstrated success in product launches and end-to-end execution of marketing strategies.
  • Highly detail-oriented with proven time-management and project management skills, and a track record of hitting deadlines.
  • Ability to multi-task and provide effective direction to numerous functional groups in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience in getting results out of overseas partners, and people of diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Good written skills, especially as it relates to copywriting for packaging, collateral materials, and the web.
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and materials including, injection molding, blow molding, casting, basic electronics manufacture, and of packaging materials and processes.
  • Strong grasp of graphic design across various platforms, mediums, and packages.
  • Fluency with Microsoft Office software a must.  Knowledge of Adobe CS software a plus.

This job operates in a professional office environment and utilizes standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

May be required to lift up to 40 lbs.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position typically Monday – Friday. Scheduling flexibility required to accommodate to workload.
